The Principles

What are the similarities between running, yoga and meditation? Do they rule each other out, because one focuses on the body and the other on the mind? Most certainly not. The Stillpoint Movement believes that running, yoga and meditation enforce one another when applied simultaneously.

The Stillpoint Movement uses the following principles

Easy running

Being able to run 15 kilometers in a relaxed way with a low heart rate by using a meditative mindset and authentic yoga.
‘Slow is better’ (Sayagyi U Ba Khin)

Authentic yoga

This yoga, based on traditional principles, releases body and spirit through relaxation and softness. This will support your running.

Lifestyle

Health challenges such as loosing weight through Intermittent Fasting and a Ketogenic diet, living more vitality, relaxation and sleeping well can be tackled through individual guidance (Vitality Coaching). They can also be combined with Advanced trainings.

Natural running

By applying the basic principles we will run in a natural way. Using a bodyscan will give you a natural posture. By working from the core you will achieve an energetic, natural way of running. Natural running allows you to relax and advance easily. It doesn’t matter whether you show up in running shoes or in sandals; we will always run based on relaxation.

Dropss

Short for: Don’t Resist or Push, Soften and Smile. During running, yoga and meditation it’s important not to grasp, resist or to push through. The principle of the Stillpoint Movement is to run (half a) marathon or reach deeper yoga or meditation with a smile on your face.

Silence

We’ll run silently and mindful and we’ll observe (depending on the lesson) different objects of meditation. The silence enables us to observe the direction of our focus. We’ll observe the movements of the mind without responding to them.
